This missing,
This wanting,
This constantly seeking

It’s like an ocean wave
Threatening to envelope me
Overwhelm
And drown me

And it’s taking 99% of my energy
To keep it at bay
But it’s in my nose
And in my lungs
In my blood
And it stings every moment
But not enough to numb
Just enough to hurt

And I want to let it out
Through salty tears
But even that is only temporary
Because this ebb and flow
Will go on
Until I am reunited with you
One with you
In your arms again

But until then…
Keep busy…try…
Hands shaking
Heart pounding
Eyes filling
And a phone call a day
Makes the heartache hurt less a bit
Keeps the ocean of missing you
A centimeter away
